FLOODS

Some of my photographs of the floods in November 2000, can also be seen on Derek Greigs site, (see related sites) and he also describes what happened at that time.  I thank him for using them.

The floods of 1993/94 were just an earlier occurrence of the same thing, although the photographs were of different locations.  It is pleasing to see that work is progressing to alleviate the flooding at three locations in the village

Those of you looking at the “flood” photographs, should not think that Walberton is necessarily worse than any other village or place in the area.   It is just that they make unusual or spectacular pictures. These were times of bad floods everywhere in West Sussex, with Chichester grabbing the headlines.

SNOW

On December 30th 2001 we had our first fall of snow since 1995. It was not a great amount but enough for the children to make a snowman. For a short while it made a beautiful sight, but soon melted away
AUTUMN IN THE LOCAL AREA

This mostly covers the West Walberton Lane area, but I have strayed a little from the Parish boundary for a few photographs at Spur Hill and Slindon.  The colours this year are so good and in my view are the best since the 1970‘s
